Autumn Churchyard Clear Up Day at All Saints

There is to be an autumn clear up of All Saints’ churchyard on Saturday 19th October between 10am and 12noon.  Some of the RAFAC (Royal Airforce Air Cadets) will be there to assist and any help from parishioners from either church would be most welcome.  Please bring your own gardening gloves.  There will be some tools but bring your own too if you like.  Refreshments at 11am.

Join the Team at St Peter’s!

We are looking for volunteers to join our “Host Team”, helping to welcome those who come to our Sunday services.   Contact Dawn Shaxon for more information and to sign up to volunteer: shaxondawn@gmail.com

Join the Kids Church Team

Support us in creating a fun, safe and welcoming environment for our children to learn how to love and walk with God. Full training and support given. If you’re interested in volunteering at the Kids church or Little Fishes, please contact Sheryl on youthandchildren@huttonparish.com

Kids Church is also organizing a Light Up Party in October. It’s a great opportunity to help out and have some fun! Speak to Sheryl about the different ways in which you could contribute.

Baptisms – Sunday 27th October

We will be holding a service of Baptism in both churches on Sunday 27th October - and would be glad to hear from anyone else - adult, child or teen! - who would like to be baptised too! Please speak to Revd Alice or Father Andy:  as soon as possible so that preparation can be arranged.

Confirmations – 24th November

We have a number of candidates wishing to be confirmed at Chelmsford Cathedral on 24th November at 3.30pm - which is very exciting!

Confirmation Preparation for adults will take place on Tuesday evenings: 5th, 12th and 19th November 7.30pm at The Rectory.

Confirmation Preparation for young people will take place on Sundays during the 9.30am service: 13th, 20th October & 17th November in the Chapel.

For any queries about baptism or confirmation, please be in touch with Revd Alice on

School Admissions - Church attendance:

If you are considering applications to either Becket Keys Secondary School or Hutton All Saints School in the next few years, or any other school application which will need Fr Andy to sign a Supplementary Information Form to verify your church attendance, please can you email:  andy@huttonparish.com to let him know.  Requirements for Hutton All Saints are listed as monthly attendance over 1 year.

Other schools vary but some require twice monthly attendance for 2 years.

In all cases, we strongly encourage parents to make themselves known to clergy and others in the church and to get involved in the life of the church where possible, so that when the time comes for forms to be signed, it does not cause any embarrassment on either side.

Notice of Funeral Service of the late Paul Whiting

We are deeply sad to share the news that Mr Paul Whiting passed away on 20thSeptember. The funeral will take place at All Saints on Tuesday 15th October at 11am. All those who remember Paul, who was part of our congregation for many years, are welcome to attend.

Memorial Service at All Saints – 3rd November

In the upcoming season of Remembrance and All Souls, the parish will be holding a memorial service at All Saints Church on Sunday 3rd November at 6pm.  This is an opportunity to remember and give thanks for those who have died - in the last year or at any time. All are welcome.

If you would like a particular name to be read out during the service, please contact the office at: office@huttonparish.com  The last date to send names through is Monday 28th October.
